Eve of the 4th of July pt 2

What a long and tiring day that we had. We were so lucky, we found a place to pick cherries! We ended up picking 13 pounds of delicious cherries. We had so much fun. The tress were 35 years old and beautiful. The family has been offering guest the opportunity to pick these gorgeous cherries for 30 years. I learned that 5 generations of families have picked from the orchard. It is a wonderful legacy. I was born in the country but raised in a busy city. This is the first time that I have ever picked cherries. I was so excited! I think that K ate at least a pound of cherries as we picked. The more we picked, the more he ate. I would not be surprised if he ate even more than that. We learned today, that he loves cherries and boy do we have the pictures to prove it. Unfortunately, I left my camera at a family members home for use at our 4th of July BBQ. So, I will have to share the pictures of our cherry picking experience on Monday. We will be far too busy with the 4th of July to think about getting onto the computer. While picking, we even found a mulberry bush. It is funny that we found these berries. On the way to the orchard, I was singing Pop goes the weezle! I honestly didnt know there was such a thing as a mulberry bush, lol. Silly city girl for you. We were offered the chance to pick thoise too. We ended up picking a small amount as it was hot and we had errands to run. K needed some serious cleaning up after cherry picking. We went grocery shopping and then I cooked until 10 P.M. to prepare for our BBQ. I will have to drive to the airport to pick up Daddy and sisters in the morning and then our 4th of July  celebration shall begin! I wish you all a HAPPY 4TH of July and thank-you to all the military members for keeping our freedom alive in this country!
