T-Shirt Printing dot net Review and Giveaway

I had the opportunity to review the T-Shirt Printing dot net Monkey Mascot T-shirt. I am an all american Jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. I love to get dressed up but at heart, I am always a Jeans and T-Shirt girl! Throw in pearl necklace and a pair of boots and I am ready to go!

When I learned of the opportunity to review a t-Shirt from T-Shirt Printing dot net, I jumped on the chance! I love a good T-Shirt. Well, I chose the size Tee that would fit my plus size gal body. I chose the color grey. I love The Heather shades of color!

Monkey Mascot T-Shirt

I received my shirt in the mail in a timely and faster than I expected manner! My shirt arrived in a nice packaged bag. The shirt was folded nicely and in great condition when I received it. I wore it the very next day. I had to take a drive nearly an hour away to run an important errand. The great part of my trip, is that I would have the opportunity to wear my shirt around many people. Upon the completion of my errands, we went to the downtown of Ann Arbor not far from the University of Michigan! We walked around to several shops including a great lunch spot and the sweetest spot in Downtown Ann Arbor, the Cupcake Station. Upon our journey, the cashier at the gas station told me that she “liked my shirt!”. I thought that was great being that I was reviewing the Tee at the time! While we were in the Cupcakes Station, we were picking up a special treat to take home to surprise the family later that evening. The young lady at the cupcake shop, mentioned that she also, “really liked my shirt!” , My fiance’ looked at me and smiled with a head nod! It seems that while we were walking along the streets in the college town, several heads turned to look at my Monkey shirt. In fact, the cupcake girl, Said” I love the monkey on your shirt!”. As far as visual appeal, I believe that this shirt earned an A+!

Now, for the wear of the shirt. I loved the color. The shirt was a nice comfortable material. I was impressed with the quality of the shirt. The tee was a nice quality material. I liked the length and the fit of the shirt. Now, I tend to be one of those people who drop things. My lovely stir fry dinner graced my shirt. I was not happy at all about this. I went ahead and washed and dried the shirt the next morning. To mY surprise and delight, the shirt washed clean. I was relieved! Thankgoodness that the shirt was not ruined. I have to say, many shirts have failed to make it out of the dryer clean. Yay. The T-Shirt Printing dot net Monkey Mascot T-Shirt has won my approval and that of several college students. Even my preschooler loved “mommies monkey Shirt!”

IXL Online Educational Resource Review

This evening, Mr. K and I discovered a fun educational website loaded with games and activities. We were trying to get in a little learning time before his bedtime. He asked if he could play on the computer by informing me that he is too little to wash the dishes but that he is not too little to play on the computer! I try to never use the “too little” reasoning with my children. I feel that it is negative and a tad bit degrading. I wish to raise self-confident children and as mommy, I feel that I should support my children in any and every way that I can. Age and size should not be a discrimination against learning or doing. Anyway, back to the subject at hand, I reassured Mr.K that he is not “too little” that he can help mommy in the kitchen with task from helping to set the table, putting away (non-sharp) silverware and cooking. He loves to work in the kitchen!

So, on to computer time. I felt that Mr. K really wanted to use the computer. So, the privilege of computer time was used as an incentive to follow through with the evening rituals. I reassured him that he could earn his computer time by completing bath time, meaning hair washing completed in a non wild swimming craze. Lol. He allowed me to help wash his hair without hooting and howling and splashing all over the bathroom. Bath and dressing in pajamas went very smoothly with computer time hanging in the balance.

Once we were prepared to go online, he was so excited! I wanted to find a fun activity that involved money! Today, he explained to me that we did not have to wait for it to be nice outside to plant our garden by informing me that we could plant a penny that he found in the snow. When I asked him what he thought would grow in the garden, he replied, ” Monies!” I thought that was so cute and innocent. Wish it was that easy!

I stumbled upon the IXL website. It is a fun online educational resource that offers “games”; skill sets that aer bright colored, fun and engaging. The IXL site offers everything from preschool education through eighth grade activities with a focus on the dreaded algebra. I was really surprised how well the activities kept his attention and even grabbed the attention of an older sibling!

Penny Counting!

Mr. K completed the Preschool skill set of “counting pennies”. It was a fun activity for him to engage in. I pointed to the pennies that were on the screen as we counted together out loud. Then he would hunt for the numbers on the keyboard, enter the number of pennies that we counted and pressed enter to check the answer.

I enjoyed this activity for the following reasons:

  • It was fun and the images were colorful!
  • Counting of the pennies is a nice counting exercise
  • teaching that each penny equaled one cent was a lesson in math and ratio
  • Use of the computer keyboard to seek numbers brought upon the realization that each of the pennies equaled a physical number. This associated the number word with the appearance of the number.
  • Use of computer skills such as entering the numbers and pressing enter to check the answer taught him cause and effect. He performed the given task and as a result, he could check to see if he was correct or if he needed to practice that particular skill again.

Overall, I found the website to be a wonderful resource and a fun website for children. I wrote a more extensive summary of the website along with the educational value and personalized learning and tracking of state mandated skills that each child must master in an articled titled Pre-k thru Algebra! I would love for you to please take a peek!

The Adjustment Bureau Movie Review, thoughts , impact, Love and prayer.

Synopsis:
“Academy Award® nominee Matt Damon (The Bourne trilogy) stars in this action thriller about a man who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him – and chooses to fight for his own destiny. Battling the powerful Adjustment Bureau across, under and through the streets of New York, he risks his destined greatness to be with the only woman he’s ever loved (Emily Blunt: Young Victoria, Devil Wears Prada). Based on a story by the legendary Philip K. Dick (Total Recall, Minority Report and Blade Runner), The Adjustment Bureau is “entertaining and thought-provoking”, Katey Rich, Cinemablend.com.”(http://www.theadjustmentbureau.com/index.php>)

Round One:

I began to view the Adjustment Bureau this summer while visiting with a friend. About half way through the movie, someone knocked on the door. A few short minutes later, the movie that we had rented was turned off, as we were on our way to go out. I was really disappointed to not have been able to finish watching the movie.

a dvd movie with a man and woman on the front cover

The adjustment Bureau

Round Two:

Fast forward four months later, the Adjustment Bureau was on a cable channel. I sat down in the evening with Miss. J to take in the movie. I remembered that I originally thought that the movie had a slow start. I decided to go ahead and watch the movie in it’s entirety. My curiosity was peeked and I really wanted to get to the point of the movie.

I began to watch the movie was becoming completely enthralled in the unfolding story. Eager to understand what the point of the movie would be. I found myself on the edge of my seat in anticipation of the next move. I loved this movie!

I found this movie to be intellectual, romantic, a wonderful representation of true love, fate, destiny, faith, and prayer.

The impact:

 In Matters of the Heart:

I have often questioned my own faith and destiny. Why do things happen. I am a firm believer in the statement that “everything happens for a reason.”. I have been at a crossroads in my life. I stood there taking in the moment with a deep breath. I just stood there in a daze wondering what path should I take as I chose to go with the flow, not rock the boat and welcome a what if into my life and heart. I was far too young to be in that place at that time. I had to much going on, too much to do, too many dream and plants to make a change, I didn’t want to hear “I told you so”. What would possibly develop from a decision standing before a teenager with a heart wiser than her age. His eyes, deep and blue sparkled with the memory of a future yet to be had, a soul so infused that it wasn’t possible to feel the the memories of a lifetime that I had not experienced and yet I knew that I had. Somehow, I already knew and I was scared with butterflies in my stomach and the silence upon my lips and his ears never made a sound.

In Religion, Faith and Prayer:

In the movie the “chairman” represented GOD to me. The Social worker agents, the Angels that guide our lives.

I have faith in love, destiny, fate and God. I think that there is a plan for everyone.

I think that people are placed into our lives for a reason. Some of these people are just passerby’s, acquaintances, Extras in the movie of our lives. Some of these people are here forever with roles changing and flowing as life flows, some of these people make a mark positive or negative it leads to something more, Some of these people seem as if you have always known them. some times you may wonder if you had. Some people make a difference, some may cause you pain, Some you help, Some help you, Some touch your heart. Some come in and out of your life making changes to your thoughts, feelings and actions accordingly. I often wonder why some people have been in my life and why it comes full circle. I may not understand or know the reason why, but I know that everything happens for a reason.

I believe in prayer. Each time that I pray, I include in my prayer…” Please bless everyone that I have ever known, Everyone that I know and Everyone that I ever will know”.

This movie, created a conversation between Miss. J and I about how paths can change and every time this happens, with every choice and every move, our own lives  and many others are affected knowing and even unknowingly. Just brings about a lot of thought, possibilities and questions.

This was a great thought provoking move! Two thumbs up here!

My Dream Vacation and Disney Passion

There are many places that I would love to visit. I long for a family vacation. A real family vacation where my children can enjoy themselves, get away and ease the stress of the past year that we have had. We have experienced the loss of so many family members. I would love for my children to have a happy time. I need for my children to have a happy time. I feel like they deserve the chance to be happy and experience something great!

I love my children so much and my heart breaks for the loss and grief that they have experienced. We have had a really long and hard year for so many reason. So much heartache, grief, worry ,stress and financial issues too.

If I were to wish upon a star, other than for everyone to be alright and to be healthy, I would wish for a family vacation. Growing up, I imagined the wonderful places that I would like to visit. I never had a family vacation as a child. I had divorced parents and I had the chance to visit my father a few summers. However, he was usually working. As a firefighter, we were proud of him and the service that he gave for his community. However, a few visits to just hang out  was not a vacation. We had a little time while he worked to visit my grandparents and Aunt and Uncle. However, in general we were not on vacation. We spent the majority of the time wishing that our mom was there with us.There were a handful of these summers, maybe about 4 times during our entire childhood. I dreamed of a real vacation.

I wanted to go to the Galapagos Island to see the large turtles. A trip to Europe to see history,Disney, Disney, Disney!

Now that I am an adult. I dream of vacations too. I still love the idea of the Galapagos Island, Europe, United States travel, Cabins or a lodge anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, I would love to go to every Disney theme park, An Adventures by Disney vacation, our Wedding at Disney World or a Disney Cruise, Especially since our planned 11-11-11 wedding had to be canceled due to our family crisis and financial issues surrounding these problems, but my ultimate would be a Disney Cruise Vacation!

As a mother, I want my children to see and experience vacations, trips and enjoy their childhood. We have been to a few places, we have been to Disney World being that we lived in Florida, we have taken a few road trips to a wedding and to visit grandparents. We had the awesome opportunity to visit the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan!

Our dream vacation is to go on a family Disney Cruise!

I would love to cruise on  The Disney Fantasy Cruise on their maiden voyage! It would literally be a dream come true! I would love to review the cruise for my Family travel article column and for Mommies and Beyond!

Toddler Suit Shopping and Docker’s Review!

Today, I set out on the excursion of trying to find a suit for my toddler, Mr. K.  We learned through trial and error, that he is just about big enough to wear a 3T. It was an interesting task to try little suits on this adventurous man.

Cutie!

I really liked this Docker’s brand toddler suit in dark red and black. I really liked the black vest with the dark red pin stripes.

Blue Suit and Cute vest

I think that these and all of the Docker’s slacks fit very nicely and perfect to the 3T size and length of my son. I liked the fabric of the vest. It was a little thicker and nice quality. This was his second favorite suit, with the Dark red suit being his favorite. However,  He did love the blue shirt. He wanted to mix and match the two suits.

Loved the Gray suit!

Here is Mr. K’s GQ Men’s Magazine Photo, Lol.  I thought that this was a very becoming suit. I loved how he had his hands placed in the photo. Very adorable! I loved this suit and color on him. Unfortunately, I did not find this particular suit to be appropriate for the occasion.

I tried these four Docker’s Suits, available at Sears, on my mini man. I liked the style and fit of the Dockers Suits!  Miss. A. stepped out of the fitting room to bring in a few more suits for Mr. K. to try on. I decided not to put him through anymore dress-up. I just have to show you the look on his face when she returned to the fitting room with three more suits for him to try on.

Sugar Free Ring Pop Review

We spent our first summer afternoon at the Lake! We had a nice time. It felt so nice to have my bare feet in the sand and breeze. Winter was long and summer delayed. It is nice that we can finally begin to enjoy the warmer weather.

We loaded up and headed to the lake. We had a BBQ and brought an assortment of fun snacks. We enjoyed fresh fruit, pretzel crackers, and a favorite fun candy. The children had a ball sampling the new Sugar free Ring Pops.

Ring Pops

I spent many long Florida summers as a child with my favorite ring pops in tow! My sister and I loved to wear them as rings and sometimes, we even played house and would make believe that the Ring Pops were pacifiers. It was so fun. Reminiscing about those summer memories, I was excited to offer my children a sugar free version of a childhood favorite.
